Hebrew Free Loan Association of Pittsburgh is hiring a Program & Loan Coordinator. This is a full time, exempt, hybrid position. Candidates must be be local to the Pittsburgh metro area.

The Hebrew Free Loan Association of Pittsburgh (HFLA) provides interest-free loans to help individuals and families achieve financial stability and pursue opportunities regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender expression, disability, past incarceration, or immigration status. HFLA is based on the Jewish belief not to charge interest to someone in need and has served the Jewish and non-Jewish communities in Allegheny County for more than 138 years. Position Summary
The Program & Loan Coordinator (PLC) plays an important role in supporting HFLA’s mission by managing loan applications and assisting clients through the process, supporting outreach and education, and coordinating loan committees. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to treating all applicants and stakeholders with dignity and respect. The PLC will report directly to the Executive Director.
Work Location
This hybrid position offers flexibility in scheduling but sometimes requires in-office presence to facilitate loan committees, work with the Executive Director, provide occasional support to the Board of Directors, and participate in community outreach.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the intake and processing of loan applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Serve as primary point of contact for inquiries and applicants, providing guidance and support throughout the loan process.
- Coordinate with loan committees and Executive Director to facilitate timely review and decisions on loans.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of applications, loans, and client interactions, and provide data to the Executive Director as needed.
- Assist in outreach and education efforts to increase awareness of HFLA’s programs.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving processes and client experience.
- Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Support other administrative and programmatic tasks as needed.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 3 years relevant professional experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 5 years with an associate degree or less.
- Personal experience with and/or knowledge about loans, financial resources, nonprofits, and/or economic development is a plus.

Schedule, Compensation, Benefits & Perks
Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)

- Pay: Range from $45,760 – $52,000, depending on experience
Schedule & Location:

- Hybrid Position – primarily remote with some in-office and in-person meetings attendance required in Pittsburgh, PA
- Flexible schedule
- Most Tuesday evenings (5-9 pm) and some Thursday evenings (6-9 pm) are required.
