Sessions are open to any residents of Allegheny and its neighboring counties and can focus on:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><em><strong>Debt management <\/strong><\/em><\/li><li><em><strong>Credit score improvement<\/strong><\/em><\/li><li><em><strong>Budgeting\/spending plans<\/strong><\/em><\/li><li><em><strong>Student loan payment plan assistance (loan consolidation &amp; income-driven repayment plans)<\/strong><\/em><\/li><li><em><strong>Home purchasing guidance<\/strong><\/em><\/li><li><em><strong>Savings\/investing plans<\/strong><\/em><\/li><li><em><strong>Credit card use best practices<\/strong><\/em><\/li><li><em><strong>Applying for public assistance programs<\/strong><\/em><\/li><li><em><strong>General financial education<\/strong><\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sessions are 50 minutes and currently occur via phone or Zoom. As she observed so many people struggling with their personal finances, Shay began to envision a life dedicated to assisting people with these circumstances.&nbsp;In 2010, Shay opened her own business,&nbsp;Financial Wellness with Shay Port. In addition to her own business, during&nbsp;the past three years, Shay has coached hundreds of participants as the financial coach at&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.joblinks.opdc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Joblinks<\/a>&nbsp;and has led the financial wellness portion of the Pittsburgh chapter of&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.platformtoemployment.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Platform to Employment<\/a>, a nationally recognized employment reintegration program.&nbsp;Shay recently became a certified Financial Counselor\/Coach trainer through the Cities for Financial Empowerment and has written several different \u201ctrain the trainer\u201d seminars, offering them nationwide to community service providers wishing to improve their own financial management skills in order to better help those they serve.&nbsp;Shay is also an experienced tax preparer and specializes in tax preparation for artists, musicians, and other freelancers.
